- The hard reset is also called a factory data reset. It will clear system errors, but it also will wipe out your personal data and installed applications, returning your Samsung Intercept to its original, out-of-the-box condition. The hard reset is useful if your efforts to get the device to respond normally have failed or if you want to clear your personal information off the phone before selling it. The data stored on your MicroSD card will not be affected. You can use the card to back up anything you want to preserve.
