Homemade Flight Attendant Halloween Costume
- Look for a scarf that is small, more like a handkerchief in size. When tied around the neck, it should have short tails that stick out rather than dangling over the top. Scarves should be either solid-colored or have a simple pattern, such as stripes, and should match the skirt or dress. Tie the scarf so the knot faces at an angle instead of straight ahead.
- Flight attendants tend to wear their hair up so it stays out of the way as they go about their tasks. For a simple updo, start with a ponytail and twist it into a bun, securing with bobby pins as needed. A more retro look requires teasing the hair by back combing, in order to create volume, styling into a twist or bun, and holding the hair in place with hairspray.
- The dress or skirt should be solid-colored, with the skirt pencil-shaped to create the look of a uniform. Try a knee-length hemline if you're going for a traditional look, and experiment with a shorter skirt for a more costume-like look.
If pairing a skirt with a blouse, use a solid white or light-colored blouse. Tuck the blouse into the skirt. - Some uniforms include more pieces, such as gloves, vests or a small pillbox hat, to which you can pin airline wings if available. While the gloves can be white, the vest and hat should match the skirt or dress.
