    • 1). Wet enough sphagnum moss to line the bottom of a plastic storage container. Wring it out so that it's damp but not soggy.

    • 2). Line the bottom of the plastic storage container with the damp moss.

    • 3). Remove the Venus flytrap from its pot and rinse as much dirt from the roots as possible.

    • 4). Trim off any dead or damaged parts of the plant with sharp scissors.

    • 5). Lay the plant on the damp moss in the plastic storage container. You can put several plants in one container, even stacking them on top of each other, without harming them.

    • 6). Shake the fungicide thoroughly and liberally spray the plants. This will inhibit the growth of mold that may otherwise occur due to lack of air circulation once you seal the container.

    • 7). Place the container in the refrigerator and check it every few weeks for mold growth. Spray with more fungicide if necessary and be sure to keep the sphagnum moss moist.

    • 8). If you only have a single Venus flytrap to overwinter, you can cover the entire plant with a plastic bag and store it in your refrigerator crisper for three months. Check it every few weeks and give it enough water to keep the soil moist.
