Discord was originally introduced in season two premiere "The Return of Harmony." He is a draconequus who embodies chaos. Princesses Celestia and Luna were able to trap him using the Elements of Harmony, but when the Elements broke apart, he was released. The Mane 6 ponies must work together to trap him again, and he is turned to stone.
In "Keep Calm and Flutter On," in season three, Princess Celestia delivers his statue to Ponyville and asks Fluttershy to reform him so that he can use his magic for good. He is released from the stone statue. Initially he pulls all the pranks he can, taunting Fluttershy and the other ponies. However, he soon realizes he will lose Fluttershy's friendship if he continues to cause trouble. Even more surprising is that he realizes how much he values her friendship. Finally, he makes a change for the better.
Discord also appeared in "Princess Twlight Sparkle," "Three's a Crowd" and "Twlight's Kingdom, Parts 1 and 2."
John De Lancie is one of only six actors to appear in ten different seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation. He also won the People's Choice Voice Acting Award for his role of Discord in the first season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
