    New LG Refrigerator

    • When first plugged in, the LG refrigerator may take as much as 24 hours before it starts producing ice cubes. Installation requires hooking the refrigerator up to a water line. After the water line is connected and the ice maker's power switch is turned on, the freezer must cool down to freezing before it can make ice.

    Temperature

    • The makers of the LG refrigerator warn that temperatures may prevent the ice maker from producing ice. In particular, if the door is opened too often, the inside of the freezer may not become cold enough to facilitate ice production. Additionally, if the temperature around the refrigerator is very cold, the refrigerator may not operate correctly.

    Ice Plus

    • If all the ice in the LG refrigerator is used, it may take some time for the ice maker to produce new ice. Some LG models are equipped with an "Ice Plus" key. Using this function makes the cooling function increase, which increases the amount of ice produced. If the LG refrigerator is not producing ice quick enough, using this key may solve the issue.

    Obstructions

    • To keep the LG refrigerator producing ice, nothing should interfere with the sweeping operation of the feeler arm. When the bin is full, the feeler arm stops operation and the ice maker stops producing ice. If the air vents become blocked by any obstructions the ice maker may cease working until the obstructions are removed.
