How to Make a Photo Souvenir
- 1). Choose the base you will use for your photo. A fun idea for smaller magnets are bottle caps, but you may also use photos printed directly on card stock without any real base at all.
- 2). Cut the photos to fit your base, or trim the paper around your photos. Use stencil designs to make the photos more interesting with varying shapes such as circles, squares or hearts.
- 3). Mount your photo to the base using glue, or laminate your card stock photos using an at-home laminate machine and laminate paper. This will supply a stable base for your magnet. Trim the edges.
- 4). Glue the magnet to the back of the base or laminated photo. Allow to dry.
- 1). Pick a small photo or resize a larger one to fit a small template appropriate for a key chain.
- 2). Use your photo-editing software to use more interesting shapes around your photo, such as a circle, heart or square.
- 3). Print your photo on card stock. Trim to fit.
- 4). Cover with laminate paper and process through your laminate machine as directed. Trim the excess.
- 5). Use a small hole punch to punch out a hole at the top of your photo key chain. Add your key ring through the hole.
- 1). Purchase a keepsake box with a photo slot or cut down your photo to fit the top of a wooden box with a lid. Boxes that are large enough to accommodate photos can include inside all those loose photos associated with the trip.
- 2). Glue cork board cut to fit on both the inside of the lid and bottom of the box to help preserve your photos on do-it-yourself boxes.
- 3). Laminate a photo and glue flush to the top of the box. If the box has a slot on top to accommodate a photo, insert it there.
