    • 1). Find the tension rollers on the plotter's top rail. Flip the lock on the tension rollers to the up position.

    • 2). Set the side guide to the position farthest from the plotter's fixed side.

    • 3). Feed the vinyl sheet's leading edge onto the plotter's cutting bed. Align the edge with the mark indicating the front guide. Set one side of the sheet against the fixed edge.

    • 4). Move the plotter's side guide against the vinyl's free side, making contact with the vinyl.

    • 5). Adjust the plotter's tension rollers, evenly spacing the area between each tension roller. Flip the tension roller lock to the down position.

    • 6). Adjust the pressure on the blade with the knob located on the blade assembly. Allow just enough pressure for the blade to cut through the vinyl without cutting through the vinyl's back sheet. There is an automatic pressure setting on some plotters.

    • 7). Start the plotter's diagnostic procedure by sending the computer file to the plotter. The plotter will automatically begin cutting.

    • 8). Wait for the plotter to finish its procedure. Find the button for cutting on the control panel, which will be labeled "trim" or "cut" and press it to trim the finished sheet.
