Blog Writing and You - Fluency, Delivery and Tone

To develop a tone at writing is difficult.
It could take years to learn how to do it.
And it could be years to understand it.
However, that is not all there is to writing.
Effective writing is much more than just a simple statement.
That is why the most popular blogs have the best writing, and the most effective.
To convey a message is simple, but to convey it with authenticity and concise quality is something different.
That is where blog writing comes from.
With the blog writing environment full of pseudo-writers, how will you differentiate your blog from the rest? The first step may be simple.
Develop your tone.
The tone of a paragraph, or larger piece, sets the mood and temper of the entire work.
Is your tone supposedly angry? Then make sure you sound it! Tone can be related to mood.
Much like a sonata can be to harmonious music.
To create harmony with words is the ultimate goal of approaching a mood of writing.
There are moods in music too, called modes.
Therefore, with writing, you are in effect writing music.
Just like music draws out emotion from the listener, so does a piece of writing.
That is the simple idea one must understand before starting on a writing journey.
You may ask how one can develop their tone in writing.
Well, along with an emotional statement, make sure to be direct.
Many writers will sway away from the active tone, and navigate towards the passive.
For example, "I received the mail," versus "The mail was received by me.
" Although, using direct versus indirect clauses are more reflective of one's own personal style, and should be noted as much.
Think about the "blog-o-sphere" of today.
An atmosphere filled with far too many blogs, and far too little information.
They have become a commodity to a writer's conscious efforts.
Therefore, in order to make your own blog stand out from the rest, you need information.
That is the second step.
Much like Wikipedia is used as a general source for quick knowledge.
Your blog visitors want information that is special to your blog, and not anyone else.
Blog readers are also temperamental.
If they do not find something interesting within a minute, they will be off to another source.
That is why concise writing is ever more important.
Stick to the basics first.
With a leading summary, you will be able to grab a blog visitor's attention.
In addition, you will be able to keep them interested for a longer period.
As with any piece of writing, make sure that you stay on point.
Many blog writers may diverge at every new paragraph.
This will lead to a decrease of repeat blog visitors, and will antagonize new ones.
So, if you start with a topic make sure that you finish it.
Of course, you can always follow the same standardized format of intro, body and conclusion if that works the best for you.
The effective delivery of words is the best way to get the point across with an air of readability.
To work on the delivery of your writing, use simple but powerful words.
You do not have to avoid complex polysyllabic words, but work on the simple ones first.
For example, "The house was painted red and looked refined.
" versus "The house, being painted in a color most associated with what the French would call rouge, looked at the most, clever, and even more substantial and elegant when viewed up close.
" Now, much of that example relies on over simplifying the approach, but it is important to get the point across.
When working on delivery, you will be able to hone-in on your overall fluency.
As you work to provide a simple, but refined approach to blog writing.
You will notice that the flow of your words will start to be easier, and more approachable by a larger audience.
After all, providing the maximum readability will surely point to an increase in blog readers.
They will spend more time on site and possibly read more of what you type.
