Motivational Television is What We Need Now and Again

For a while now I've been watching rubbish TV.
You may agree with me.
Only the occasional series is stimulating like Fringe, The Mentalist or FlashForward.
Or the odd Sport, Basketball sometimes interests me, Rugby regularly takes my interest, and then there's that short but brief period where there is a championship competition with plenty of hype.
Then, I'm back to square one, flicking around for something to watch that takes my interest and holds my attention longer than half and hour.
I'm one who like the above, but also real life events.
Like sports, we see real people, not actors, who live a real life like us and have their moment of fame and attention.
So I also like programs like Oprah and DrPhil, real people with real life events.
I then saw a wonderful and inspirational program call 'Find My Family'.
An ABC Show which ran the real life events of people who wanted to reunite with their lost relations.
The basis is this, due to some catastrophe, environmental like an earthquake or flood, economic like a recession or governmental like a war, people then move apart and lose contact with each other.
One family today initiates and finances a search for the other half of the family.
A research or investigation firm tracks down the family, mostly through paperwork, while a camera crew films the whole event.
What is particularly stimulating about the whole thing is the eventual reunification of the two halves.
This results in sobs and remembrance of past events, and everyone joins together.
What I like is that point that everyone seems to have a happy every after and it's sincere.
It makes me wish I was there, and I feel better about life after I watch it.
Call me soppy after I've said all other things above, but that's what I like, real life, honest people doing something and achieving their aim.
Great.
