How to Remove Green Mold From Deck Rails
- 1). Wear a pair of rubber gloves and an N-95 respirator mask during the mold removal process.
- 2). Fill a bucket with cool water. Fill another bucket with 1 gallon of water and 1/2 cup of TSP. You can substitute 1/2 cup of bleach and 2 drops of liquid dish soap for the TSP, if you wish.
- 3). Place both buckets near the deck rails within arm's reach.
- 4). Use a scrub brush saturated in the TSP mixture to scrub the mold off the deck rails. Use an old toothbrush saturated in the mixture to get in small areas.
- 5). Allow the mixture to sit on the deck rails for 15 minutes.
- 6). Submerge a cloth in the bucket filled with water. Rinse the deck rails with the cloth. Wipe the rails dry with a towel.
