I found this campground driving in the Ottawa National Forest, and I camped there in May 2000.
Campground Review
My fiancé and I were visiting his cousin in Spread Eagle, WI. We decided to drive along west Highway 2 the day we left to find out what we could see. We came into the Ottawa National Forest and stopped at the Watersmeet Ranger Station. We picked up maps and other brochures about the forest and spoke to the rangers, who were very courteous and helpful!
We decided to stay the night and found this campground on Marion Lake.
It is secluded but there are many things to do nearby. The campsites are large and are placed well enough apart that you do not feel like you are "on top" of your neighbors. The lake is beautiful and offers fishing, boating and swimming. Best of all, it only cost us $6 per night to stay there, on a first-come, first-served basis!
