Have a morning scripture activity with breakfast for the young women. Make place settings with cereal bowls and spoons at each seat. Place an individual-size box of cereal in front of each bowl, along with a gallon of milk in the center of the tables to share. As the young women pour their cereal and milk into their bowls, discuss how often you tend to sit and read your cereal boxes while you eat your cereal in the morning and that it takes less than five minutes to memorize the ingredients list. Tell them the value of reading our scriptures each day instead. Have them remove their cereal boxes and replace them with their scriptures.

    Pirate Treasure

Have a pirate-theme evening and begin with an introduction that compares the scriptures to valuable treasure that pirates cannot live without. Bring out a treasure chest prepared beforehand. Perform a skit about a pirate ship getting ready to sail away until they discover that their treasure is missing. Invite a couple of young women to open the treasure chest at the end of the skit. They will find sets of scriptures inside. Pass them out and spend the last part of the evening reading "treasured" scriptures aloud.

    Scripture Sleepover

Host a sleepover in your home. The theme for the night is scripture study. Have everyone bring their scriptures with them. Set a timer so that every hour on the hour, a buzzer goes off, signalling to the young women to drop what they are doing right on the spot and read scriptures quietly for 15 minutes. The peaceful feeling of the Lord's spirit will fill the room and speak louder than any words you could ever say on the positive effects that reading the scriptures will have on them.

    Scripture Bag Skits

Prepare eight to 10 paper bags filled with items found around the house or church. Keep it simple and put at least five objects in each bag. Have the young women divide into teams so there is one bag per team. Give each team a half hour to put together a scripture-based skit using every object in the bag. Have them perform it for the group, which will guess what scripture story each skit represents.
