How to Be a Good Follower of Christ
In this article I will take you through what the bible says about it and how I am able to be a good follower of Christ without much effort.
If you are serious about learning the truth then make you some coffee, get a comfortable chair, and open up your heart to the Spirit of God so you can seek the truth through Him and lets begin.
In Ephesians 5:1 we are told to "Imitate God," in everything we do because we are his children.
To live a life filled with the love that he loved us with when he offered himself as a sacrifice for our sins.
In Matthew 13:11 - 13 Jesus replied "you are permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom, but others are not.
To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given, and they will have an abundance of knowledge.
But for those who are not listening, even what little understanding they have will be taken away from them.
That is why I use these parables; for they look, but they don't really see.
They hear, but they don't really listen or understand.
" God permits us to understand the secrets of the Kingdom when we listen to him and obey his commandments.
The more we listen and obey the more he will show us and open up our hearts to understanding.
In 1 Peter 1:2 God our Father knew all of us and chose each and everyone of us long ago, and his spirit made us holy.
When we obey him we are cleansed by the Blood of Jesus Christ.
And in 2 Peter 1:2 the scripture say's, "May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.
" When you boil this down to the bare essentials we end up with the nuts and bolts of how God wants us to be a good followers of Christ.
In everything we do we should show our true colors toward God.
We are to be patient and endure the troubles and hardships as well as calamities of every kind.
Back in the day of Christ the profits were beaten, put in prison, faced angry mobs, worked to exhaustion, gone without food and sleep.
But God the Father and Jesus the Christ was with them through the Holy Spirit and those hardships were not as hard to handle.
We are to prove ourselves to others by our purity, and understanding, and patience, always with kindness by the Holy Spirit that is within us, as well as our sincere love that is as unconditional as Jesus' love was when he went to the cross and died for our us.
We are to faithfully preach the truth through God's power that is working in us.
By doing so we are using the weapons of righteousness in the right hand for attaching and using the left hand to defend.
We serve God whether we are Honored or Despised, Slandered or Praised.
When we are honest we will be called impostors.
In today's world we live with freedom of speech so those of us that are Saved won't be here, but those who don't have Jesus Christ in their hearts will soon see again how the profits in the first several hundred years after Christ died were treated because it will again be that way, actually, even worse.
They were ignored, even tho they were well known, They lived close to death but were still alive, they were beaten but they had not been killed.
Their hearts ached but they were always joyful.
They were poor yet the spiritual gifts they gave were riches.
They owned nothing, yet had everything.
With that said, I am going to explain why I am a good follower of Christ.
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" Matthew 6:33 KJV
