Rapid Cycling Bipolar Symptoms
- Mania is one symptom of rapid cycling. This is a period of extreme highs.
- Hyperactivity, extreme productivity and recklessness are some of the behaviors of a manic phase. A person may sleep very little, talk too fast, and become easily annoyed or agitated.
- This is another possible symptom of rapid cycling. People have either manic or hypomanic episodes. Hypomania is a less extreme form of mania in which the highs are not as severe.
- Depression is the second main symptom of rapid cycling.
- In depression, a person feels hopeless and worthless, and may attempt suicide. Other signs of depression are sleeping and eating too much, and losing interest in everything that use to be important, such as work, relationships and hobbies.
