    • 1). Open the hood and locate the backside of the headlight assembly for the blown-out headlight to be replaced.

    • 2). Locate the wire harness plugged directly into the back of headlight bulb. There is a locking tab on the wire side of the plug that must be pressed inward, and then you can unplug the harness from the bulb. Use the small screwdriver to help you press in the tab, if necessary.

    • 3). Remove the black rubber boot protector that covers the headlight bulb by peeling it off.

    • 4). Unfasten the wire clip that locks the headlight bulb into place. It's hinged on one side, and the other has a small lock holding the end of the clip. Press it inward and upward to release it.

    • 5). Extract the old bulb and insert the new one with the tab of the flange on the bulb in the up position. Do not touch the glass bulb of the new headlight. Oils in your skin can compromise the life of a halogen bulb.

    • 6). Replace the locking clip to hold the bulb in place. This may take a few attempts. You need nimble fingers and some patience, but don't give up. Press upward, inward and then downward to lock it into place.

    • 7). Replace the rubber boot and replug the wire harness back into the back of the light bulb. Turn on the ignition key and turn on the headlights to test the new bulb. Shut the lights off, remove the keys, remove your tools and close the hood.
