- 1). Strip 3/8 inches of insulation off the black and red insulated wire. Connect the red wire to the red wire at the light with a butt connector. Place one wire in each end and compress it with pliers.
- 2). Connect the black insulated wire to the black wire at the light with a butt connector. Run this wire to a grounding location on the tractor. The ideal spot is under a bolt fastened to the metal frame or body. Loosen the bolt, slide the end of the black wire underneath and tighten it.
- 3). Run the red wire to the safety light's switch mounted in the cab. Loosen the two terminals on the back of the switch with a screwdriver. Connect the red wire to one of the terminals and tighten it.
- 4). Strip a 3/8-inch piece of insulation off the end of a new section of red wire. Connect this wire to the other terminal on the back of the switch and tighten it.
- 5). Run the red wire to the tractor's battery. Cut the wire and strip a 3/8-inch section of insulation off the end.
- 6). Connect the red wire to the fuse holder's wire with a butt connector. Loosen the positive red terminal on the battery with a wrench. Slide the red wire under the terminal and tighten it.
- 7). Wrap all of the connections in electrical tape. Secure the loose wires with cable ties and insert the recommended fuse into the slot.
