How to Remove a Honda 2000 CRV's IAC Valve

    • 1). Shift the CRV's transmission into park for automatic or first gear for manual. Turn off the engine, open the hood and secure it with the prop rod and apply the parking brake. Remove the negative battery lead from the battery terminal using a 10 mm box-end wrench. This will prevent the possibility of electrical shock.

    • 2). Follow the black air intake tube from the front of the vehicle near the grill until it terminates at the throttle body.

    • 3). Locate the IAC valve. It is approximately 1 inch in diameter, made from black plastic and aluminum, and protrudes about 1 inch from the left side of the throttle body.

    • 4). Disconnect the IAC valve's electrical connector. Remove the two Torx screws holding it to the throttle body using a Torx screwdriver. Remove the IAC valve from the throttle body using a twisting/pulling motion.
