How to Remove the Light Bar From the Top of a Jeep Liberty
- 1). Locate the four screws that secure the ABS cover on the light bar. They are located along the back edge of the light bar and screw into the light bar reinforcement on the roof.
- 2). Remove the four retaining screws using a Phillips screwdriver. Be sure to put the screws in a safe place so that you can reuse them later to reinstall the light bar cover.
- 3). Lift the rear edge of the light bar cover and slide it forward. The cover needs to slide far enough forward to disengage the front edge from the light bar reinforcement. Lift the cover off the roof and set it aside.
- 4). Locate the jumper harness that connects to the wiring harness. It is located on the left side of the bar between the first and second lights. Unplug the electrical connector, being careful not to break the retaining clip on the connector.
- 5). Locate and remove the four mounting nuts on the inside of the light bar reinforcement. Remove the nuts using a socket and ratchet. Lift the light bar away from the roof while carefully feeding the jumper harness out through the hole in the reinforcement.
