How to Clean a Fresh Air Vent in a Chevy Camaro
- 1). Visit your dealer to purchase some GM Vehicle Care Odor Eliminator. It's available in 16-oz. spray bottles and dealers buy it by the case. Since it's not available in stores, purchasing at your dealer is your only choice unless you can find it online.
- 2). Enter your car, turn it on and check that the air fan is off. Open the front windows for ventilation and then turn off the car.
- 3). Spray the odor eliminator once or twice into all the inside vents in your Chevy Camaro. Start your Chevy Camaro and put the air fan on high cool, but don't use the air conditioning setting.
- 4). Get out of your car, close the door and find the fresh air vent located under the cowl at the base of your hood, in the area closest to the windshield. This are often collects debris, including leaves. Clean out the vents with your hands and warm water.
- 5). Spray the odor eliminator into the fresh air vent 10 times, once it's free of debris. You may have to open the hood to get a clearer shot at the vent.
- 6). Wait a minute and get back into your Camaro. Wipe away any formula coming out of the vents. Check the smells coming from the vents. If there are still odors, spray the outside vent five more times.
- 7). Repeat Step 6 until there aren't any odors in your Chevy Camaro. Turn the air conditioning to the recirculation setting, close the windows, spray into the lower right instrument panel area three to five times and run your Camaro for five to seven minutes. Then, turn your car off and exit.
