    • 1). Make a checklist. After deciding what kind of party you want, one of the most important steps in planning any kind of shower is to make a checklist of all the things that you need. Make sure that you include your budget somewhere in the checklist so you don't end up spending too much money.

    • 2). Compile your guest list. Remember to include your guest of honor in this process. Choose people that are close to her and that she wants to be around. No one wants to be at their own shower with a bunch of people they don't know.

    • 3). Buy and send out invitations. Invitations should include what the purpose of the shower is, where it is and what time it will be held at. Mail the invitations at least a month before the party.

    • 4). Decide what kind of food and drinks that you would like to serve at the party. Make sure that there is enough for everyone invited. You can either contact a local caterer or buy the food yourself. You can also ask guests to bring different dishes if you would like.

    • 5). Choose decorations and party favors. The decorations should add to the theme of your party. Don't choose anything too over-the-top that would distract guests from the celebration. Party favors should be little mementos of the shower and the event that you are celebrating. Make sure to save one for the guest of honor to keep as a keepsake.

    • 6). Choose games and music. Play soft soothing music that doesn't drown out the voices of your guests. Make sure that the music you choose isn't offensive to any guests and set it to play throughout the shower. When looking for shower games, find ones that everyone can play and offer small prizes to the winners.
