How to Remove Seats in a Ranger Boat
- 1). Locate the two sets of screws on the bottom of the seat. There will be one set on each side. Remove these with a Phillips screwdriver.
- 2). Grab the center padding back supports and try to pull them out. If they are attached with Velcro, they should come off with a good tug.
- 3). Locate the two large screws on the seat, underneath where the padding was. There will be one on each side of the seat that you should remove with a Phillips screwdriver. This will release the seat.

- 2). Grab the center padding back supports and try to pull them out. If the back supports do not release, they may be held in place with metal tongue-and-groove plates instead of Velcro, in which case you should proceed to Step 3.
- 3). Position yourself next to the seat, wrap your arms under it and pull it straight up. This should release the seat. Line up the plates carefully when you slide it back into position.
- 1). Remove the middle seat (if this is a three-seat model) first by wrapping your fingers around and under the ends of the middle seat padding where it touches the other two seats. Give it a good tug to release the Velcro grip.
- 2). Locate three screws on the floor of the boat in the carpet. These will be on the back piece between the seats, possibly hidden by a piece of carpet. Remove these screws with a Phillips screwdriver.
- 3). Lift out the seat assembly. This will expose the top section of the gas tank.
