Blogs Or Websites?
Recently, a different type of websites called web logs or blogs have emerged and they are gaining popularity at a quick rate, almost to a point where basically everyone has a blog.
But what is the difference between a blog and a website? The similarity blogs have to traditional websites is that they have URL addresses and they can be visited by viewers.
They have the ability to host multimedia files like videos and music.
You can also load games on there.
Basically everything you can do with a traditional website, you can do with a blog.
The differences is where it really gets interesting.
I would say it this way, blogs are like websites with a lot of caffeine.
You can set them up and have your first few posts published in just minutes while with a website, it would take you hours.
It also takes a long time to update websites as opposed to blogs.
One key difference is that you can comment on blogs at any post if you are allowed to comment.
Traditional websites only allow for commenting on forums.
Then there is one thing that you must consider, blogs get indexed a lot quicker than traditional websites.
Blogs would get indexed in a matter of days while a traditional website would take months to get indexed on a search engine.
I would've thought that websites had an advantage to where they had pages for categories, but you can do that too with blogs.
Plus it is said that blog hosts are cheaper to buy than traditional webhosts.
The thing with blogs is that they have more of a personal vibe to them than websites, they seem more accessible when you can work it right.
