- 1). Wash your vehicle regularly, using automotive washing solution, sponges and water. Dry with a chamois, wringing out excessive water as you go along. Bugs, bird droppings and limestone drippings can stain and damage paint permanently if they aren't removed promptly. When moisture from these things accumulates, it will corrode the paint and cause scratches, wear and rust.
- 2). Polish existing scratches with a polishing compound. Spread an even amount of rubbing compound onto the applicator. Spread evenly, using circular strokes, across the scratched surface. After the compound dries, use a soft towel to remove it from the vehicle.
- 3). Wax your vehicle. Apply wax to the applicator. Rub on the wax in circular strokes. Wax will protect your vehicle's finish from external damages. Wax every four months for optimum protection.
