- 1). Turn the ignition to "ACC" or "ON" to enable the radio.
- 2). Press the "Power/Volume" knob on the left side of the stereo system to turn the radio on. Turn the knob clockwise to turn the volume up and counterclockwise to turn the volume down. Press the "Power/Volume" knob again to turn the stereo off.
- 3). Press the "FM 1/2" button at the top of the stereo system to switch to either FM1 or FM2. Note that the Mazda 3 stereo allows you to preset up to 12 FM stations in memory, six presets for FM1 and six presets for FM2. Press the corresponding number button (1-6) to switch to a preset radio station.
- 4). Press the "AM" button at the top of the stereo system to switch to AM stereo mode. The Mazda 3 stereo allows you to preset up to six AM station in memory. Press the corresponding number button (1-6) to switch to a preset radio station.
- 5). Press "SCAN" in either FM or AM mode to command the radio to automatically locate and sample radio stations with a strong signal. Each radio station plays for approximately 5 seconds while scanning. Press "SCAN" again to stop scanning.
- 6). Press the "Seek up" or Seek down" buttons to the left of the "Manual Tuning" knob to manually scan through radio stations. Note that the "Seek" function only finds radio stations that have a strong signal.
- 7). Tune the radio manually by turning the "Manual Tuning" knob in the center of the radio until you find the desired station.
- 8). Save radio presets by selecting either FM1, FM2 or AM then turning to the desired channel. Press the number button (1-6) that you want to save the preset to and hold it down for approximately two seconds until you hear the system beep.
- 9). Press the "AUTO-M" button to the right of the "Manual Tuning" knob for approximately two seconds to command the radio to automatically scan for the six strongest radio signals and save them to your preset channels (1-6).
