How to Clean Cloudy Aluminum Wheels
- 1). Add an aluminum wheel cleaning product to a bucket of warm water and use rags or sponges to remove any heavy dirt from the wheels.
- 2). Use wet/dry sandpaper to carefully sand the wheels by hand. For very cloudy wheels, use a lower grit sandpaper first (200 or 300 grit), then move up to a higher grit (400 or 500).
- 3). Apply more of the cleaning solution and scrub with steel wool or a 500 or higher grit wet/dry sandpaper until smooth.
- 4). Wash off the wheels using clean water and wipe with a microfiber cloth.
- 5). Apply aluminum polish and buff according to the product's instructions.
