How to Replace an Alternator Belt in a 1995 Ford Probe 2.0
- 1). Loosen the bolt on the tensioner pulley with the socket wrench. This pulley is located in the upper middle section of the engine compartment. It is a 3 to 5 inch diameter pulley attached to the belt.
- 2). Remove the belt now that the pulley is loose and there is slack in the belt. Make sure to draw a diagram of the pathway of the belt, if there is no such diagram present in the engine compartment.
- 3). Install the new belt on the path illustrated in the diagram.
- 4). Lever the breaker bar against the tensioner pulley to put tension on the pulley. While the belt is tense, tighten the pulley bolt with the socket wrench.
