How to Troubleshoot Headlights on a 1996 Beretta
- 1). Pull down on the fuse panel cover under the steering column.
- 2). Locate the fuse for the headlights using the fuse diagram on the underside of the fuse panel. Then pull the fuse for the headlights using the fuse pullers in the fuse panel.
- 3). Replace the fuse with a new fuse of the same amperage if the metal strip inside the fuse is broken.
- 4). Open the hood and unplug the electrical connector from the back of the headlight.
- 5). Rotate the headlight counterclockwise and pull it out of the headlight housing assembly.
- 6). Inspect the filament in the headlight. If it's broken, or if the headlight bulb is cracked or has exploded inside the housing, you'll need to replace the headlight. If the headlight seems to be in good shape but is still not working, you'll need to have a professional mechanic test and inspect the wiring.
