PRAYER AND PROPHESY
By: Oswalo U. Chikere

These biblical terminologies are important to any child of God and each (Prayer or Prophesy) are important in the life of a true child of God. Just like the €Spiritual Gifts'- Utterance of Wisdom, utterance of Knowledge, Faith, gift of Healing, gift of Working Miracles, gift of Prophesy, gift of Distinguishing between Spirits, gift of Speaking in Tongues and gift of Interpreting Tongues- these two activities work in unison; without prayer there's no prophesy and vis-a-vis. These are the most important characteristics of a Christian (He must be a strong prayer warrior and must be able to prophesy things into being); without faithful prayers, a Child of God cannot communicate with God and without prophesying, a child of God cannot declare the future.
Jesus Christ who is our part to God, the recognized and accepted son of God himself is regarded as the first prayer warrior and prophet. During his days on earth, he prayed without season and prophesied at random. Some examples of where he prayed are; praying in the temple, praying the €cup' should be removed from him, etc. and some intervals where he prophesied are; prophesy of the coming of the Holy spirit, prophesy of the end of the world, prophesy of destruction that will come upon the world, prophesy of his coming the second time, etc.
Prayer is an action that contains words which are said to God almighty, giving thanks or asking from him. It can also be said to be one of the ways communication between God and His children are made. All biblical men of God prayed fervently.
Prophesy is the ability to be able to dictate the future. It can also be used by children of God to curse the future. All biblical men of God prophesied seasonally, some from God and others for themselves to the glory of God.
For better understanding here, it will be best to give an illustration.

There was a child of God named Elijah. He was a prayer warrior and a prophet. He was recognized by Israel, feared but was not obeyed. There came a time when all Israel was into serving baal and the king of Israel being a prophet of baal, instructed the killing of any man of God. At this juncture, some were killed, others were hidden by men who fear God, and some took to their hills. Elijah was among those who were to be killed as instructed by the king but he fled into the wilderness. When Elijah came in contact with the king, he prophesied that there wouldn't be rain fall in Israel and it came to pass€¦
According to the story, God did not ask Elijah to prophesy such but He (God) backed it up since it was to the glory of His name.

TYPES OF PRAYERS
The following types of prayers are strictly my definition and were coined out of Daniel 10. There are two (2) types of Prayer, and they are;
€Empty or Loosed Prayers: These types of prayers are prayers which do not contain any spiritual quotations (word of God). In this type of prayer, mere English words are made use of (no biblical terminology). (English register has proved that, every activity has its terminology. As in money, save... for bank, and injection, nurse, doctor for hospital, etc. and so on).
This type of prayer is mostly said by those who think they are children of God. It most times is not answered because they do not reach their destination (heaven) since there are spirits who disturb our prayers according to Daniel 10.
Yes, this could be the reason why many have prayed for years yet have not gotten answers. When prayers do not contain the word of God which is like two-edged sword that pierces the heart, they are loosed because they (the prayers) can't do any harm to negative spirits (forces).

€Weighed or Fulfilled Prayers: These types of prayers are best defined as €a consuming fire'. They carry rich and fulfilled word of God. The bible says, if everything will pass away, no iota of my word will pass without accomplishing what it was sent for€¦ and that, by the mention of the name Jesus, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is lord€¦ These prayers melt and suffer any unjust spirit and even God that He is touched to answer them since He can't go against His word, and must give to His children to enable them be in tact.
REASONS FOR QUOTING THE WORD OF GOD
The reason for quoting the word of God during prayer is for the following facts;
€¤ It melt and suffer the heart of God that He compulsorily answers the prayer
€¤ Such prayers cannot be obstructed by any force
€¤ The word of God is a light unto our part and it's an ingredient to our food
€¤ When the name Jesus is mentioned, every knee bows and every tongues confess that Jesus is Lord

Prayers are not meant for only accepted children of God, but any human being too. For safety purpose, it is advisable for everybody who prays to have the backup of God because those who pray suffer spiritually.
As a Teacher, Doctor, student, etc. you might have made prayers and they've not be answered for years, the reason is because; prayers are meant to be wrapped up with the infinite and all answering word of God. This can only be possible when the involved knows the word of God at every situation he finds himself. To know these words of God, it is advicable that every interested individual or group of individuals must study, if not one, more than one chapters of the Bible daily.
For every life situation we face, the bible has a solution to it. Christians and non- Christians nowadays no longer pray again due to selfish excuses best known to them. My advice to those who are involved in this situation is that, €we human were created only to praise and acknowledge God'.
If we cannot pray, we cannot prophesy.
The Bible contains a good number of stories in books, chapters and even verses that motivates us as human beings. We do not need to be a prophet to prophesy. We die in our problems and run from place- to- places because we do not use our prophesying ability to prophesy into our problems.
Why run when the answers are in your hands?
Not all Christian prophesy yet it is compulsory for every Christian to prophesy and believe in prophesy. The easiest thing a Christian can do is to prophesy while the hardest thing is to prophesy. There is a contradiction in this statement, but it simply juxtaposes, not all Christians have faith in their prayers and prophesies. This is as a result of doubt- a feeling of being uncertain about some things- and it's among the factors that make prayers and prophesies not answered following faithlessness- the ability of not having faith and not trusting in somebody's ability- and unbelief in God. For Christians not to be doubtful and faithless in God, they need to read their bible every day to widen the knowledge of God and His abilities.
Millions of people (more especially ministers of God e.g. Pastors, Prophets, and so on) preach €faith', yet themselves, they have it only on other people's problem and not in theirs. This has been proved by observation since some messengers of God teach others to have faith, and in theirs? They do the opposite of what they preached.
According to the word of God, €By faith in God and His word, we will move mountains€¦, whatever we pray and believe it is answered, indeed it is answered€¦'
It is not a think of necessity that whenever we want to pray to God, we must go before our knees or shout on the top of our voices in the bus-stop, office, school, etc. when we have prophesy. Instead, you could go straight to the point and make a prophesy through faith without doubting.
ADVICE
In times of trouble, prophesies are suitable rather than prayers. In an accident like; car accident, arm robbery, kidnappers, etc., instead of praying fearfully, prophesy thus; I will not die, that which is for me will not be taking by another person, I am not for what is not to the glory of God respectively.
PRAYERS
- Forgive me Lord for doubting your words, my prayers and Yourself
