How do I Change the Taillight in a 1998 Lexus Gs400?

    • 1). Open the trunk lid.

    • 2). Remove the black plastic cutouts. Using a slot screwdriver, turn the cutouts counterclockwise and pull them out.

    • 3). Remove the nuts on the trunk side of the tail brake light. Insert a 10mm socket into the upper hole where the cutouts were and turn counterclockwise to remove the nut. Repeat for the lower hole.

    • 4). Remove the two bolts on the outside of the brake light. First remove the plastic covers over the bolts. Use a slot screwdriver to pry off covers. Use a 10mm socket, turning counterclockwise and remove bolts.

    • 5). Remove the taillight assembly. Carefully pull the taillight assembly away from the vehicle.

    • 6). Replace the appropriate bulb or bulbs. Remove the broken bulb and replace it with a new bulb.
