    • 1). Open the F-250's hood. Push the tabs on the side of the air-cleaner box door aside, using your hands.

    • 2). Pull the old filter by hand. Hold the filter up to a light source and note if you can see light passing through the filter. If that is the case, the filter is good; if you cannot see light passing through, replace the filter.

    • 3). Slide the filter into the air-cleaner box. Close the door on the air-cleaner box.

    • 1). Remove the inlet hose that leads to the air-cleaner box by loosening the clamp with a pair of pliers and pulling the hose off the air-cleaner box. Loosen the hose clamp on the turbo side of the air-cleaner box, using a screwdriver. Pull the turbo inlet hose off the air-cleaner box.

    • 2). Lift the air-cleaner box up and out of the F-250's engine well. Set the filter box on the ground. Release the retaining tabs that hold the inlet and outlet cases to the filter cartridge.

    • 3). Hold the filter cartridge, open end down, two inches off the ground and drop it. If any dust or dirt accumulation is left on the ground, replace the filter.

    • 4). Install the inlet and outlet cases onto the filter cartridge and close the retaining tabs. Place the air-cleaner box back inside the engine bay, making sure that the lower mount studs slide into their related holes in the engine bay.

    • 5). Slide the inlet and outlet hoses over the inlet and outlet of the air-cleaner box. Tighten both clamps in reverse of how you loosened them, making sure that they seal the hoses completely onto the air-cleaner box.
