    Herbicide

    • 1). Purchase highly-concentrated wine vinegar from a garden supply store or nursery.

    • 2). Dig gently into the soil around the plant with a hand spade to expose the roots and the base of the plant.

    • 3). Spray the solution on the root zone of the Kalanchoe tubiflora, thoroughly wetting the roots you can reach. Do not spray the wine vinegar directly onto the plant or onto the surrounding soil.

    • 4). Wait for the Kalanchoe tubiflora to die quickly and violently; effects should be noticed within one day of treatment.

    • 5). Dig the plant up once wilting occurs and dispose.

    • 6). Treat garden soil where the plant was and the area immediately surrounding it with lime-rich fertilizer to re-balance and restore the store.

    Dig Out

    • 1). Cut into the soil around the plant with a spade. Create a 4-inch circle around the plant.

    • 2). Dig deeply into the cuts, working the spade back and forth to loosen it up. Roots may spread as far as 12 inches into the ground.

    • 3). Remove the circle of soil with the plant in the middle, taking care to gather all the roots of the plant up as well.

    • 4). Dispose of the plant and re-fill the hole with garden soil.
