    • 1). Buy a 15m roll of awning tape from a camping supply store.

    • 2). Use scissors to trim the area of the tear, cutting away any loose threads.

    • 3). Clean the area around the tear with a solution recommended on the tape. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions or the tape may not stick. The area should be clean and dry before you try to apply the tape.

    • 4). Cut a length of tape longer than the tear. Gather the edges of the tear together and apply the tape. If you put the tape in the wrong place, do not pull it off but apply another piece of tape instead.

    • 5). Repeat the process on the rear of the tear, making sure that there are no gaps or air bubbles on either side.
