- 1). Place basil containers in a window that receives at least 10 hours of direct sunlight each day.
- 2). Water the basil just until the soil is damp to avoid drying out the plant but do not overwater the plant as good drainage is important.
- 3). Keep your basil plant in a warm area. Basil thrives on high temperatures, preferring summer heat for best growth.
