How to Replace the Fan in a Jeep Grand Cherokee
- 1). Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable in your Jeep Grand Cherokee.
- 2). Unplug the fan's electrical connector. This step is just like unplugging any electrical appliance.
- 3). Use your wrench to remove the bolts from the upper fan shroud (the upper part of the fan's housing) and lift the fan shroud and fan assembly out of the engine compartment.
- 4). Insert the new fan assembly into the engine compartment. Slip the shroud into its retaining tabs and tighten the fan shroud bolts back into place until it is fully secure.
- 5). Reconnect the fan's electrical connector and the negative battery cable, in that order.
