Certificates

Microsoft Windows stores security certificates, used to authenticate a particular device or user, in PFX format. These files are both encoded and encrypted, and add an extra layer of security to computers for business use. Apple's Mac OS X operating system can also open some PFX security certificate files. Programs that can use these files include Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader, Microsoft Certificate Manager and Microsoft Certificate Import Wizard.

PFXplus

POWERflex Corporation's PFXplus program is an application development program that allows users to convert applications to Windows without rewriting code, edit dialogs and add Common Controls Architecture features. Meant for 32-bit Windows programs, this program works on Windows 2000 and later versions, including 64-bit versions of the operating system. It saves source code and scripts with a .pfx extension.

In fact, the computer originally used to run it is no longer in production. However, you may be able to install old copies of Pageflipper Plus using the Amiga Forever emulator for Windows.
