- 1). Connect your iPhone to your computer using the connector cable. Plug the long, skinny end of the cable into the bottom of your phone and the other end into your computer's USB port.
- 2). Open iTunes and press the "Check for New Updates" button (under the "Devices" menu).
- 3). Press the "OK" button on the window that appears to install the updates. A "Do Not Disconnect" icon will appear on your iPhone while the updated firmware is being installed.
- 4). Disconnect your iPhone once the update has completed. You will hear a short tone, and the iPhone's display will return to the charging symbol once it is complete. Press the orange "Eject" button in iTunes to safely unplug your phone.
