How to See All Programs Launched Automatically at Startup
- 1). Open your "Start" menu and type "msconfig" in the "Search" box. Click the "msconfig" icon that appears in the search results fields to open the "System Configuration" window. Click "Continue" if you are using Windows Vista.
- 2). Navigate to the tab labeled "Startup." Scroll through the list to see the programs that are set to automatically load with your operating system. Remove the check mark next to any given program to prevent it from loading during the start up sequence.
- 3). Click "Apply" and restart your operating system to save the changes.
- 1). Access the "Start" menu and type "regedit" in the "Search" box. Click the icon for the registry editor program. Choose "Continue" if you are using Windows Vista.
- 2). Click the main folder at the left end of the window named "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE." Navigate through the sub-folders labeled "SOFTWARE," "Microsoft," "Windows," "CurrentVersion" and "Run."
- 3). Scroll through the list of registry entries at the right side of the screen. Right click and delete any entries for programs you don't need to launch with the operating system. Close the registry editor and restart the computer.
