How to Transfer Songs From an iPod to iTunes Library on a Mac
- 1). Using your website broswer, download a free trial of Senuti (a direct link is provided in the resources section of this article.) This software is specifically designed to transfer files from your iPod to your computer. If you don't want to use Senuti, some similar options are listed in the resources section.
- 2). Install the Senuti software in your "Applications" folder and double click to open.
- 3). Go to the "Preferences" menu in Senuti and choose "Copying." In the dialogue that opens, select the "Add to iTunes" option as well as the "Organize into Folder" option. This will keep your music organized after the copy.
- 4). Using the iPod compatible USB cord, connect your iPod to your Mac.
- 5). Click the "Library" icon on the left-hand panel. This lets you view the list of songs contained on your iPod.
- 6). Select as many songs as you'd like to transfer and hit "Copy." Senuti will add them to your computer hard drive and automatically import them into iTunes.
- 7). Open your iTunes library and verify that the transfer is complete. From here, you can play your songs, organize them into playlists or burn them to CDs, just as you would any other music file.
