What Are the Duties of a Reservationist?

    Bookings

    • The reservationist books events, tickets or arrangements online, by phone or in person. He produces customer confirmations and meet the customer’s requests to the best of his ability. Contacting customers when a cancellation is submitted is also the responsibility of a reservationist.

    Advisory

    • When making reservations, a reservationist advises the customer on the best plan for the customer to follow. She also helps with travel and hotel arrangements where customers are staying. Reservationists can only advise according to company policy and procedures.

    Administrative

    • Reservationists maintain the booking system database. This includes having computer literacy in computer reservation systems and online reservation applications. Incumbents in this position apply data-entry skills to enter customer and reservation information. A reservationist also takes inventory of event and ticket availability to best serve the customer’s needs.
