Blog Promotion - SEO to Advertise Your Blog

103 41
Blog promotion is great fun for SEO experts.
All blogs have interesting articles, and a good blog can be a real treasure house of great content you can write about when you want to advertise a blog.
Even less active blogs can be helped by the right type of advice, and if you know a good content writer you can always spice up the blog with a few guest posts - or, quite simply, buy some articles and put your name on them.
Many content writers that write good articles will do so for an amount of 35-75$ per article depending upon how many blog articles you need.
Such material can truly boost traffic to your blog, and when you have already decided to spend hundreds of dollars on SEO, why not combine the two things for maximum effect? Likewise, you will hear some SEO experts claim that articles don't play that big a role, but think about these questions:
  • What would blog content be if it wasn't new articles on a regular basis?
  • If new articles didn't work, why do others then make an effort to update their blogs regularly?
  • Finally, if any SEO expert begins to talk about strange concepts that sound wrong to use, you have gotten in touch with an expert who maybe uses grey hat or black hat techniques.
End your cooperation before your blog is hurt.
The above questions are important to ask when you hear some of the theories passed on from wannabe-experts who have done great damage to many blogs through the years.
I heard of one guy who didn't like announcements on Usenet forums.
What he overlooked was the fact that links for search engines should also be followed up by links in relevant forums to provide organic visitors - real people - to your blog.
If any expert claims that automatic submissions work, he is dead wrong.
If you want to trust such advice be my guest.
But it won't work.
Search engines take note of time stamps, and today it is not any problem to collect data on when links appeared.
If you get 200 links within 25 minutes it doesn't require much to calculate that these links come from an automatic submission.
Automatic submissions may be considered a helpful shortcut, but I would never recommend doing so.
In fact, I would even recommend one thing you can begin doing right away - even before the SEO expert you are considering to use tomorrow morning wakes up.
Take 5 blogs within your niche, and read an interesting article on their site - and leave a comment.
Next day do the same with 5 other blogs.
When you re-visit the first 5 blogs, decide whether it would be worth following these blogs, and add them to your RSS-feed.
Leaving comments, even on so-called NoFollow-blogs, can give great links back to you.
When you have Google Alerts on your name, you notice that Google does index many of them.
And there is great value in profiling your name among the big guys in your niche.
Don't just take my word for it.
Try it.
