- 1). Begin a game of "Defense of the Ancients" and elect the Invoker from the hero tavern. He will begin at Level 1, and you will be able to select one of three abilities at the start: Quas, the orb of ice; Wex, the orb of lightning; or Exort, the orb of fire.
- 2). Choose a starting ability and click that ability three times to summon three orbs. The more orbs of one kind that you have summoned, the stronger the bonuses given by those orbs. Each time you level, place another ability point into an orb spell so you can eventually summon all three types of orbs.
- 3). Once you reach Level 6, learn the Invoke spell so you can gain new abilities from the orbs you have chosen.
- 4). Learn what combinations of orbs will make which spells. After you choose to play as the Invoker, open the game menu by clicking "Menu" at the top left of the screen, then click "Invoke List" to see the entire list of potential spells and what orbs you need active to access them.
- 5). Summon orbs that correspond to the spell that you want to invoke. Once you click "Invoke," the new spell will appear on your interface. You can change your summoned orbs without losing this new spell.
