How to Buy Beaded Curtains

    • 1). Decide how you are going to use the beaded curtains because this will affect the look and type of materials. Use curtains with acrylic beads if you're worried about the beads breaking (for example, if being used in a child's room). Choose curtains made with bamboo beads to give your room a tropical feel; they also make a pleasant knocking sound similar to chimes. Glass beaded curtains are best placed where they will be more decorative than functional. Add artwork to your home with painted beaded curtains or a funky feel with plastic. Beaded curtains made from wood will give your room a natural feel and, like bamboo, make a pleasant sound.

    • 2). Measure the area you wish to cover with beaded curtains. Use measuring tape to determine the area's height and width, rounding to the nearest eighth. Do not forget to make adjustments for the hardware you intend to hang the curtain from.

    • 3). Search online stores for beaded curtains in the style you want. Be sure to check the store's return and exchange policies before you purchase anything. Visit stores in your area that sell beaded curtains, again, ask about their return and exchange policies.

    • 4). Some stores will make your curtains to size. If you cannot find or afford custom beaded curtains, you may want to look for ones that can be easily deconstructed or cut-down to the size you want and order them larger than you need. Conversely, you could buy two or three skinnier curtains and place them next to each other so they appear as one wider curtain.
