How to Create a Music Mix
- 1). Write a list of songs you'd like on your music mix. If you'd like your mix to be on a CD, 15 to 20 song choices will do. If you're making a mix for an iPod playlist, your list can be as long as you'd like.
- 2). Go on the Internet to www.itunes.com Click on the free download for the newest version of iTunes. Click "Download Now" on the next screen. Follow the steps on the screen until download has completed.
- 3). Locate the iTunes icon on your computer desktop and double-click.
- 4). Open the program and click "iTunes Store" if it's not up already.
- 5). Enter the title of the song or the name of the band into the "search" box available inside. Find the song you're looking for and click "Buy Song." Follow the steps on the screen to log into your account (or create one) and pay for the download.
Repeat this step per song on your music mix list. - 6). Click "Recently Added" under "Playlists" on the left-hand column of iTunes. This will show you all of your recent downloads.
- 7). Create your music mix in one of two ways. Burn your mix onto a CD by clicking "burn disc" at the bottom right-hand corner of the "recently added" playlist and inserting a blank CD when asked--or, to add a new playlist to your iPod, see step 8 below.
- 8). Add a new playlist to your iPod by clicking "File --> New Playlist" on the screen. Drag and drop the songs on your "recently added" playlist onto your new playlist.
- 9). Plug your iPod into your computer and wait for iTunes to show your iPod's information in the left-hand column. Drag and drop your newly created playlist onto the icon for your iPod. The playlist has been added.
