Movies or Television

• Take inspiration from the young girl's favorite television show or movie characters. For example, if she loves princesses, go all out by painting the room pink and decorating with tiaras and princess pictures. Another young girl might enjoy a classic cartoon character such as Minnie Mouse. Whatever she likes, use those colors and images to decorate the room.
  
  

Garden

• Transform her room into a garden space if she likes flowers and playing outdoors. Paint the walls pale green and stencil flowers and leaves all over the walls. Paint her furniture white and detail them with grass, flowers and butterflies. Choose accessories with butterflies, bumble bees, caterpillars and other elements that might be present in a garden.
  
  

Tomboy

• Some girls might not be so into girly things. If your 4-year-old girl is more of a tomboy, embrace that side of her when you decorate her room. Select a beach theme, decorate her room in blues and tans and paint fish all over her walls. Another option is a sports-themed room, decorated with aspects of her favorite sport, whether she likes soccer, baseball or something else.
  
  

Classroom

• Many little girls enjoy playing teacher with their friends. Transform your 4-year-old girl's bedroom into a classroom. Paint the room in primary colors and add a stencil or a border with letters and numbers on the walls. Place a chalkboard on the wall, or paint one wall with chalkboard paint so that she can pretend to teach lessons. Add a child-size table with chairs so that her "students" can do their work.
