Featuring some of the picturesque islands of Greece, the show is a true reprieve for soul. The refreshing and pristine beaches in the backdrop impeccably complement the enthralling story. It is the tale of Sophie, the young who is thrilled before her wedding with her beloved Sky. She is elated to invite her close ones to the grand day of her life and while preparing the list, she comes across one of her mothers old memoirs. The diary tells her about three men, her mother Donna was seriously involved at a point in her life and one among them is her father. An excited Sophie, doesnt even wait to seek her mothers approval and sends her wedding invitation to all three of them.
While Dona is shocked, Sophie is astonished to see all three of them arrived for her wedding. Sophie, who had earlier thought that a moment spent privately with each of them will be enough to sort out the mystery of her father, has now found the attempt to be futile. But to her delight, all three of them decide to share one third of being father to the girl. The ABBA classics that run at the background along with the title track include Does Your Mother Know?, Dancing Queen, Super Trouper and Take A Chance On Me. A West End theatre, Novello Theatre London is located on Aldwych in the City of Westminster. It was built as a pair to the Aldwych Theater, both the houses were designed by architect W.G.R. Sprague while Waldorf Hotel stood between both the houses. The venue was initially named the Waldorf Theater initially but was later changed to Strand and Whitney before being it was finally given its current name. Sir Ivor Novello stayed in one of the flat above venue between 1913 and 1951 and that is why its present owners chose to name the house in his honour.
Based on Catherine Jonsons story, the Mamma Mia has been a Phyllida Lloyd directorial and includes an ensemble cast featuring Meryl Streep as Donna and Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgard. The musical has been entertaining theatregoers in London for over a decade now and has been winner of numerous awards and accolades.
