What If the Lord Jesus Christ is Coming Back Soon?
Jesus' coming is going to be a surprise to most people.
They will not be looking for Him.
Some will say, "We have heard that from our childhood days and He has not come yet.
" Some will say, "People are telling us this to scare us into following their teachings.
" Others will say, "I do not believe in that Jesus stuff.
" Some may believe He is coming back, but not today.
Whatever our feelings may be on this subject, it is very important that we know the truth.
How can we prepare for something we do not believe is going to happen? Jesus told us, "No man knows the day or the hour" when He is coming again.
He did give us some things to look for that would indicate He is coming soon.
He said, "When these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads: for your redemption draws near.
" Here are some signs of His coming again: 1.
As it was in the days of Noah (violence and total corruption); 2.
As it was in the days of Lot (sexual perversions of all kinds, including homosexuality); 3.
There will be many false christs and false prophets; (these are wolves in sheep's clothing) 4.
There will be wars and rumors of wars (civil and international); 5.
An increase of famines, pestilences and earthquakes; 6.
A violent hatred of Jesus' followers; 7.
The social structure will collapse; 8.
Many people will be deceived by the teaching of false prophets; 9.
Iniquity will abound; 10.
The love of many will "wax cold;" 11.
The gospel of Jesus Christ will be preached to all nations; 12.
There will be great tribulation; 13.
Israel will be a nation; 14.
False prophets will show great signs and wonders; 15.
A great falling away from the true gospel of Jesus Christ; 16.
There will be many who think they are right with God but are not; 17.
There will be widespread persecution of Christians; 18.
There will be a breakdown of the family; 19.
Strange things will start happening in outer space; 20.
"Fearful sights and great signs" will be from heaven; 21.
Armies will surround Jerusalem; 22.
People will be having heart failure for fear of what is happening; 23.
There will be great satanic activity; 24.
The Antichrist will be revealed; 25.
Knowledge will increase; 26.
The wicked will do wickedly; 27.
A general spirit of lawlessness will abound; 28.
The saints will do exploits.
As we see Jesus' coming draw closer, all of these will become more pronounced.
Some of these signposts have been with us from the beginning.
Some have came and gone and have come again.
What was happening in Noah's and Lot's day is very pronounced these days.
Every major religion is looking for their "Messiah.
" There is a feeling in the air that some earth-shaking event is just around the corner.
These are great days to be alive.
A word to the Christians.
Let us keep our eyes and ears open.
We are not supposed to be caught off guard when Jesus returns.
Let this be the time we fine-tune our relationships with God and others.
As we draw nearer to God, let us also draw nearer to one another.
