    • The T-Mobile MDA is a slider-style phone with a large display screen that is pushed to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard underneath. Calls can be placed or received from the outside, but typing is accomplished by sliding the screen. The phone was released in February of 2006 and uses GSM technology, so it requires a SIM card to function properly.

    Size

    • The MDA is 4.3 inches wide, 0.9 inches thick and 2.3 inches tall. The phone weighs 5.29 ounces. The display screen measures 2.8 inches diagonally.

    Screen

    • The MDA has a LCD screen that displays 65,000 colors. The display resolution is 240-by-320 pixels.

    System and Internet

    • The T-Mobile MDA uses Windows Mobile 5.0 as its operating system. This allows the phone to function a lot like a Windows personal computer. The phone has downsized versions of Microsoft Office programs, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Windows Media Player is also included. The MDA connects to the Internet using the EDGE network and uses Internet Explorer as a browser. Bluetooth connection is also included. With Bluetooth, you can send data and media between phones without using messaging features.

    Media

    • The included version of Windows Media Player is capable of playing back any MP3 audio files. These files can also be used as ring tones. Although the phone does include built-in speakers, a headphone jack is also present to listen to music in private. The MDA has a 1.3-megapixel digital camera with eight levels of digital zoom. The camera also works to record and play back video. All still images taken by the MDA's camera are processed in JPEG or BMP format.

    Technical Information

    • The MDA works on GSM 850, 900, 1800 or 1900 frequencies. Its battery is a lithium ion with a maximum life of 1,200 mAh, or milliamp hours. A USB port is on the phone for charging through a computer or transferring information.
