The best computer keyboard

If you are like me then you can easily spend 4 to 5 hours at your computer browsing the web, and writing articles, or maybe even doing some gaming. I do a little bit of all of it and one thing I have over looked about the computer experience is a quality keyboard.

I have gone through a few keyboards in my time, from the stock dell keyboards, to the Logitech g15, but I have never been satisfied in the features of each keyboard. The stock keyboards are lacking in features, and the Logitech g15 I owned had plenty of bells and whistles for gaming but was not very good for typing. So after hours of searching I stumbled upon mechanical keyboards, and after browsing through all the choices that I had I finally settled on the Razer black widow.

The Razer black widow mechanical keyboard has a little bit of everything I was looking for, it still maintained the sleek gaming look that razer is known for, and kept the macro buttons that I loved about my Logitech g15, but the biggest change of all was the typing experience. If you haven't been lucky enough to use a mechanical keyboard then you are missing out! The biggest difference between a mechanical keyboard and most other keyboards that just use a membrane pad is the mechanical keyboards give a very nice snappy feedback, they also last a lot longer since each key has a individual switch that have been proven to last longer then regular membrane pad keyboards. Each model of keyboard can use a different switch that can give the user a different feel when using the keyboard, The Razer black widow uses a mx blue switch, which is lighter then most but still gives the nice feed back and clicky sound that I now love.

Some of the mechanical keyboards can get expensive getting up to a few hundred bucks, but I was lucky enough to pick mine up brand new for only $65 and its was money well spent, it took me about a week to get used to the different more snappy feel of typing, but it has definitely helped me become a faster typist. It also makes me want to type on it any chance that I get, as I am writing this now I am using my keyboard attached to my laptop just because I simply do not want to use anything else anymore. Typing wasn't the only reason I chose this keyboard I also do my fair share of pc gaming, so after putting it through my gaming paces I have to say it performed very nicely, the light mx blue switch helps with hand fatigue since I do not have to press very hard on the key to get it to activate, and the macro buttons are programmable for extra hot buttons. It felt good from games like Heroes of Newerth, to Battlefield bad company 2.

If you are looking for a keyboard that will provide a great typing experience while still having some gaming features, then I would take a look at the razer black widow, or if you want a backlit keyboard check out the razer black widow ultimate as it is basicly the same keyboard but the keys are led backlit. There are other mechanical keyboards out there that are nicer, but I personally found that the one from Razer was affordable and still maintained everything that I wanted. The choice is yours I just wanted to share the great experience that I had from switching from a regular keyboard to a mechanical.
