    • 1). Open your iTunes software (if you do not have it installed, you may download it for free from iTunes.com). Select "iTunes Store" and wait for the Internet program to load.

    • 2). Select "App Store," then search for either "Truphone" or "Fring." These are two different wireless services that work on the iPod Touch.

    • 3). Download one of the available apps. Truphone requires a $4 monthly service (charged through your iTunes account), but Fring is completely free.

    • 4). Plug the provided USB data cable into the USB port on your computer, then insert the other end into the power port on the bottom of the iPod Touch. iTunes automatically detects the connected hardware.

    • 5). Click the hardware listing in iTunes, on the left side of the screen under "Devices," then click "Sync" to import the app onto the iPod Touch.

    • 6). Press the icon now on your iPod screen. Here you are asked to enter in the number you wish to dial. Momentarily the call is placed to the other phone, just like what is done with a cell phone.
