Nuvi 200 GPS Vs. Nuvi 350 GPS
- The Nuvi 200 and 350 are roughly the same size. The 200 is 3.8 inches wide, 2.8 inches tall and 0.8 inches deep; the 350 is slightly larger at 3.87 inches wide, 2.91 inches tall and 0.87 inches deep. Although the Nuvi 350 is larger, at 5.1 ounces, it weighs only one-tenth of an ounce more than the 200. Both models have the same 3.5-inch display with a resolution of 320-by-240 pixels.
- The Nuvi 200 and 350 both use a rechargeable lithium ion battery. The battery in the 200 modem can last up to five hours between charges; the 350 battery can last for up to eight hours. Neither model is water-resistant. The Nuvi 200 includes a high-sensitivity GPS receiver, while the 350 model does not. Both models accept SD memory cards, although neither comes with a memory card.
- The mapping features of the Nuvi 200 and the 350 are nearly identical. Both come loaded with base maps. Users can upload new maps and updates to the units, but neither model includes free lifetime updates from the manufacturer.
- The Nuvi 200 and 350 use voice prompts to direct drivers along a route, although the 350 uses street names while the 200 uses only physical directions (for example, "Turn right"). Both models feature auto re-route, which quickly recalculates a driver's route in the event of a detour or wrong turn. Both also allow drivers to choose a route based on shortest distance or quickest travel time. Both feature route avoidance to help drivers avoid construction delays and accidents along the way.
- While many of the GPS-related features on the Nuvi 200 and 350 are similar, the devices have some important differences. The 350 comes with a built-in MP3 player and an audio book reader; it also features a headphone jack, while the 200 does not have any of these features.
